show revolves around the lives of four women living in a house in
Miami and is a great blend of wit, humor and sarcasm.
Blanche Devereaux (Rue McClanahan)
is the Southern woman and owner of the house who loves sex and has
dated all the eligible bachelors of Miami. Her roommates are the
retired high school teacher, Dorothy Zbornak (Bea Arthur) and
housewife and widower Rose Nylund (Betty White) who loves telling
stories of her hometown.
The fourth golden girl is Dorothy
Zbornak's mother, Sophia Petrillo, who is a spunky Italian who just
loves speaking her mind. It was the burning down of her retirement
home that made her turn to her daughter's house for accommodation
purposes.
