Through Blanche, you learn a new meaning to the word grandma. She is the owner of the beautiful house in Miami, Florida, where all the men in Miami have visited at least once. Despite all this, the other women in Golden Girls manage to get along well with her quite well.

However, the one person Blanche is often at logger heads with is Sophia Spirelli Petrillo Weinstock who is the elderly mother of Dorothy. She is an elderly, overly sarcastic and Sicilian woman on the outside.

However she has a good heart though she has a habit of always speaking her mind. In fact, she is the highlight of Golden Girls, as she usually ends up doing things that get on the nerves of the others at home, more so of her own daughter.
